Gel is polish that cures hard under a lamp. Glossy, chip-resistant, lasts about two weeks. Best for the highest shine and the widest color range, and it does not add length. If you like your natural nails and just want color that survives real life, gel is usually the answer. More on our gel and dip page.
Thin layers of colored powder sealed with resin. No lamp, lasts longer than gel, often three to four weeks, with a sturdier feel. Great if you are hard on your hands or your nails peel. It does not add real length.
Acrylic adds length and strength, sculpted by hand into a hard enhancement. This is what you want for length or a specific shape. It needs a fill every few weeks. Want length but the gentlest option? Ask about Gel-X on our acrylic page. If you climb or lift, keep enhancements short.
